Lemon oil is one of the few essential oils which can be used for various purposes around the house. Whether it's in the kitchen while cooking, or cleaning and polishing the wooden furniture, or as a disinfectant, or even for aromatherapy and other ailments, lemon has many uses and many beneficial uses.
Lemon oils are an aromatic addition to oil soluble products such as lip balms, lipsticks, body butters, edible massage, Candy, Fondants, Frostings and Baked Goods. Flavor Oils are highly concentrated food safe fragrance oils. The addition of a sweetener can greatly enhances the "flavor", though. Recommended usage rate is 1-3%. Your recipe can be multiplied by .01 -.03 to determine the amount of the flavor oil you should add. For instance, if you had 16 oz of lip balm base & wanted to use 2% flavor oil, you would multiply 16 x .02 = .32. You would add .32 oz of flavor oil to your base.
As with any undiluted flavor or fragrance oil, always handle with care and in well ventilated area. Do not apply directly to skin or ingest. Contact exposure of undiluted flavor oils can cause burning of the skin and eyes.
